Brief Description: Steel and ebony Urethra Lithotome manufactured by W. Pepys. Tool has an ebony handle with groves and ridges cut into it. Ebony of handle is mounted either side to main steel body of instrument. Instrument consists of a curved blunt blade, used to protect a smaller curved, sharp cutting blade. Cutting blade is raised by depressing metal catch extending from ebonite handle. Instrument was used in the removal of bladder stones.
