Brief Description: Mater; rete for 29 stars; 5 plates; alidade. The sighting-vanes of the alidade are missing. On the rete there are four silver knobs for turning.
Primary Inscriptions: "In the name of God. Made by Muhammad ibn Fattuh al-Khamairi in the city of Seville in 621 A.H." On the back of the kursi.
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans. Formerly the property of Dr E.B. Knobel, F.R.A.S., who bought it at Edinburgh in 1876 in a second-hand shop.
