Brief Description: Mater, rete for 18 stars, 1 plate, alidade, rule, pin and wedge. The outer band of the rete for the tropic of Capricorn terminates with the head of an animal head. The shackle is in the form of a comet.
There is a circular scale around the central hole of the rete. This has previously been described as a scale of 24 hours. However it is divided to 29 and a half (and numbererd to 29), and is therefore presumably a scale of the age of the moon.

Provenance: Presented by A. E. Gunther. Formerly in the Gunther Loan Collection. Found amongst the possessions of R. T. Gunther on his death.
