Brief Description: Octagonal base with inset compass bowl; hinged decoratively pierced equinoctial plate with alidade carrying geared minute dial. Underside of plate carries latitude scale (20-70°) regulating equinoctial plate by vertical cam. With tooled, leather-covered case.
Primary Inscriptions: "CLAVDE DVNOD A DVSSELDORF" on base plate and "1716" on underside of compass bowl.
