Brief Description: The compass has a scale of degrees [0]-90-[0]-90-[0], surrounding the compass rose with initials of the Italian winds. Each viewing position of the surveyor's cross has a slit and wire thread sight. From the shape of the case, there was presumably a (now missing) wooden lid for the compass.
