Brief Description: Octagonal plate with central inset compass (adjustable for variation), sprung folding plumb level (plummet missing), two volvelles, three feet. The hour ring is sprung and its elevation controlled by an index; rotating index arm with central folding gnomon and small folding winter gnomon at one end. With leather-covered, silk-lined octagonal case; latitude disc in lid.
