Brief Description: Mater; rete; 4 plates; horse; pin. The heading "Turkish Astrolabe" is from the old label, in Gunther the heading is "Persian astrolabe". The mater is damaged at the bottom. The little tooth that keeps the plates in place in the mater is missing (probably broken) in one of the plates.
Primary Inscriptions: "In the year 1089", engraved on the kursi.
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans. Purchased by Evans from Vitali Francis Frères, Algeria, in February 1911.
