Brief Description: Mater; rete; 4 plates; alidade; horse; pin; green ilaqa. The kursi is decorated on both sides and bears inscriptions. One of the plates is marked as a tablet of horizons. On the front, small holes around the limb suggest that originally the astrolabe might have been studded with jewels.
Primary Inscriptions: "Decorated by the humblest and penitent servant Muhammad Mahdi al-khadim", below the shadow-square.
