Brief Description: The instrument stands on a turned wooden base with a concave mirror mounted at its centre. Three turned brass legs support the circular stage which has two pinholes, one of which is square and the other has a keyhole slot on a sliding plate beneath it to secure the accessory. Three shorter legs stand on the stage, spaced between the lower legs, that support a brass ring holding the body. The body tube is pasteboard covered in rayskin. The draw tube is pasteboard covered in green vellum, decorated with gold stampings. A lignum vitae collar at the top on the tube holds a field lens and the setting for the eye lens, screws onto it. A brass eyecup with a sliding dust cover, in a lignum vitae setting screws onto the top of the microscope. Also present are four objective lenses in brass settings, a lens in a lignum vitae setting and a black and white disk.
