Brief Description: The Y-shaped foot supports the instrument on trunions. The square stage has two spring clips to hold specimens and a condenser is mounted on the underside of the stage plate. A pillar at the rear of the stage holds the body tube. Coarse focusing is by two knobs on each side of the tube linked to the body mounting. Fine focus is adjusted by a screw on the top of the pillar. A bar below the stage holds the plano-concave mirror on an articulated arm. The walnut case also holds six eyepieces and five substage aperture discs.
Primary Inscriptions: "S.PLOSSL & cie, WIEN"; one eyepiece engraves "VOLLGLAS OCULAR".
