Brief Description: Marconiphone Two-Valve Receiver Type V2, in polished mahogany cabinet, with two standard ebonite range blocks, regenerator unit for broadcasting wavelengths and two attached valves. With detachable front lid. With High Tension (H.T.) nickel-plated steel terminals, steel coil, and plastic casing. With three nickel-plated knobs, four headphones plugs, four battery plugs (two High Tension and Low Tension plugs), two Aerial plugs and one Earth terminal on sides of exterior surface of case.
A pair with two-stage amplifier Inv 11169.
Primary Inscriptions: "MARCONI'S WIRELESS / TELEGRAPH CO. LTD. / NO C-E 10261 LONDON" printed on steel label attached to interior surface.
Provenance: Presented by the Marconi Corporation in 2004. Previously on loan to the Science Museum. Moved to MHS in 2000, whilst accompanying amplifier retained until 2008.
