Brief Description: Lacquered wooden disc, with painted lines and numbers around the edges and on the top and bottom surfaces of the astrolabe. There is a plastic cover that sits on top of the wood and can rotate, with signs of the zodiac in a colourful painted ring. On top of the cover, there is a rotating wooden alidade with a graduated scale painted on the surface held in place by a metal wingnut and screw. On the bottom, there is a second alidade, again with a scale painted on.  The astrolabe is attached by a cord to a dark painted wooden frame.
