Brief Description: Copperplate engraving strip map of the route from London to Aberystwyth. From Thomas Gardner's small-scale edition of John Ogilby's Britannia, "The Pocket-Guide for the English Traveller", 1719. This plate, from London to Oxford, is the first of three making the route from London to Aberystwyth.
Primary Inscriptions: Humbly Inscrib'd to the Honourable George Clerk, Esq. The Road from London to Aberistwith on the sea coast. Com Cardigan. Wherein are included the Roads to Oxford and Worcester. By Tho's Gardner. Pen annotation to bottom: Route Survey made by the Perambulator, 1719.
