|Brief Description:||This is a model of a tower of the Imperial Wireless Chain, as built by the Marconi Company. This network of wireless telegraph stations/towers spanning the British empire was conceived before the First World War but deferred until after the war. The "Marconi Scandal" of 1912 related to attempts by the Marconi Company to bribe MPs to have the contract awarded to the Marconi Company. The network was built in the 1920s and completed in the late 1920s.|
