Watchcocks

Brief Description: 21 copper alloy watchcocks of varying sizes each with a different design on them. These were used to protect a watch's balance wheels whilst still allowing them to be seen through the design. All of the watchcocks are oval in shape with rounded triangular shaped extensions. Ten of the watchcocks have faces at the base of the oval, with leaf and flower designs in the oval, one of these has a small piece of glass encased in the centre. Seven of the watchcocks have purely floral designs some with leaves and strap work designs as well. Two of the watchcocks have vases at the base of the oval, with leaf designs above them. One of the watchcocks have birds on them, one with a swan at the base of the oval, the other with two birds amongst the leaves.
