|Brief Description:||Albumen print, mounted within a glazed enclosure, red border, hanging hook, aperture in back showing inscription. Portrait of Andrew Ross, seated three-quarter length, turned slightly to right; vignetted. Foxing stains. Ross (1798-1859) was a founder member of the RMS. The photograph must have been taken in the period 1855-59, and the print is approximately contemporary, though the mounting is later.|
