Brief Description: Waxed paper negative of a view over gardens towards a distant landscape containing (near centre) oriental buildings, with garden wall, middle-distance and foreground trees out of focus. Companion of 11943. Taken in India, probably from the colonial residence shown in 11938 and companions.

Provenance: Presented by Lieutenant-Colonel A. G. Shortt in 1941. Taken by his father Major-General Alexander Young Shortt when he was Political Resident (representative of the British Government) in the native state of Palanpur, India, about 1860-70.
