Brief Description: Waxed paper negative of a view over gardens towards a distant landscape containing (right) oriental buildings, foreground trees and foliage out of focus. Companon of 11944. Taken in India, probably from the colonial residence shown in 11938 and companions. Several tears.

Provenance: Presented by Lieutenant-Colonel A. G. Shortt in 1941. Taken by his father Major-General Alexander Young Shortt when he was Political Resident (representative of the British Government) in the native state of Palanpur, India, about 1860-70.
