Brief Description: Clover inhaler modified by Hewitt by widening the control tube and making it rotate inside the vaporizer. Consisting of a round metal vaporizer with a rubber-rimmed face piece attached, and a separate rubber gas bag.

Engraved on vaporizer: "Geo Barth & Co. London| Sole Maker"

In a cuboid wooden case, with front panel on hinges. The case is fitted with metal brackets to secure the vaporizer in place.  

Invented 1877 Joseph Thomas Clover (1825-1882), modified 1901 by Sir Frederick William Hewitt (1865-1916).
