Signed on ebony foot: W & S JONES HOLBORN LONDON.

Square brass pillar with clamp and fine screw focus in the Cuff manner. Three objective lenses, each in its swing arm, to be used singly or together. Plano-concave mirror; 5 ivory sliders; high-power objective. Height 100 mm. Fishskin-covered case lined with green velvet (112 x 88 x 35 mm). Said to have belonged to Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie, Snr. (1783-1862), Sergeant-Surgeon to Queen Victoria.
