Special Exhibition Label: 'Eccentricity: Unexpected Objects and Irregular Behaviour' (10/5/2011 - 16/10/2011)
The Star Inn, Oxford, where this tiny watch was exhibited, no longer exists, but its site is marked by a blue plaque at the Clarendon Centre, Cornmarket Street. It was an important coaching inn in the 18th century, incorporated into the Clarendon Hotel in 1863 and demolished with the hotel in 1954.
