Gilt and silvered brass. Signed, "*C*T*D*E*M* [i.e. 'Christoph Trechsler der Elter, Mechanicus', of Dresden] *1*6*13*".

Includes:
1. A lunar volvelle aspectarium, and wind-rose; with a wind-vane.

2. A horizontal dial, adjustable for use in latitudes 48°, 50°, 51° and 52° (the gnomon is probably a modern replacement).

3. A surveying compass, for use in conjunction with an alidade at the side of the compendium.

4. A compartment for the wind-vane.

5. A table of the latitudes of 36 places.
