English INCLINING DIAL
c. 1770.

Brass and silvered brass; with fish-skin covered and velvet lined paste board case. Signed "HEATH & WING LONDON"; undated.

Two spirit levels are incorporated in the compass for use, in conjunction with the three adjustable feet, in levelling the instrument.

There is a built-in pointer indicating the magnetic deviation at the time the dial was made.
