Early Oxford records of the geometric solids

Gunther, ESO, II, 79 prints the list of "Instrumenta astronomica musei Saviliani' from the 1697 Catalogus librorum manuscriptorum. It includes the following two entries:

14. Conus in parabolam, hyperbolam & ellipsin dissectus
16. Elementorum Euclidis Schemata ligno efformata

The dissected cone evidently agrees well with this catalogue description, and the regular polyhedra can be plausibly if not so definitely identified with the wooden 'schemata'.

In ESO I, 123 Gunther noted that these objects from the Savilian Collection were currently missing.
