Gold stamped on the body with the Royal Arms and the maker's name: "John Yarwell Fecit". Vellum and pasteboard, lignum vitae mounts; the outer tube mottled red, orange and green, and decorated with gold tooling. 7-draw; 3-lens erecting eye-piece, at which only the eye-lens survives. Only two other Yarwell telescopes are known, at the Science Museum and at the Whipple Museum.
