40. Ensign 'Ful-Vue' Box Camera with Large Reflecting Viewfinder, c. 1950

Signed: 'ENSIGN' and 'FUL-VUE MADE IN ENGLAND'.

In appearance a twin-reflex camera, but is in fact a box camera with unusually large reflecting viewfinder with which Houghton resumed their peacetime production in 1945. This camera dates from the early 1950s as it has a f6 singlet meniscus lens of 85 mm focal length with screw-focusing, simple rotary shutter, and flash-contact. The image is the right way up but laterally reversed.
