26. Newman and Guardia 'Nydia' Pocket Camera, c. 1900

Signed on back: 'NEWMAN & GUARDIA LTD', with folding arms inscribed 'NYDIA'.

Unusual design which is essentially a Newman bag changer for eight quarter plates with changing lever and automatic counter, to which is attached a folding camera. Ross symmetric anastigmat lens with between-lens iris diaphragm and eyelid type shutter with speeds 2 to 1/100 sec. Probably the most portable of the magazine cameras.
