To fit over lens of about 30 mm diameter. Metal tongue slides into the lens' slot for the Waterhouse stop. The exposure is controlled by the rate at which air is allowed to escape from the pneumatic cylinder above the shutter blade; speeds 1 and from 2 to 1/100 sec. Patented by Arthur S. Newman in 1886 and marketed by the Stereoscopic Company.
