132. Sands & Hunter Two-bladed Go and Return Shutter, c. 1881

Signed: 'SANDS & HUNTER Patent 20 Cranbourn St, London 1036'.

Mechanism similar to previous pattern, except that the wheel drives two slides with V-shaped ends in opposite directions; spring tension set by rotating knob numbered 0 to 7. When shutter was released the blades opened up to selected aperture size and then closed again, set by scale marked 0 to 256. To be fitted behind lens with 55 mm barrel. This improvement of Michael Norton's shutter of 1879 was patented by C. Sands in 1881.
