123. Voigtländer 'Doublet' Lens, 1860s

Signed: 'N1 1492 Voigtländer & Sohn in Wien'.

Petzval designed his lens for Wilhelm Friedrich Voigtländer but the they soon quarrelled and Voigtländer began to develop his own Petzval type and other lenses. This is a variation of the Petzval lens but with the two rear components in reverse order. This f3.4 lens has a focal length of 250 mm, rack and pinion focusing, between lens Waterhouse stops and bayonet fitting for rear components.
