Mater
The mater and limb are of one-piece construction. The edge of the limb has been scored and a thick brass wire has been placed in the resulting grove. Scales on the limb: equal hours scale; degree scale. More informationBack
The upper portion of the back bears a diagram of the celestial spheres, with planetary symbols for each of the planetary spheres. Four blank spheres at the center were perhaps intended for symbols of the four elements.
