Although it is not signed or dated, we can place the manufacture of this astrolabe in the Maghrib, and date it probably to the 13th century. As well as having the standard latitude projection on the front, with its rete and beautifully-stylised star pointers, the back has a universal projection and so can be used in any latitude.
