Fractals Exhibition

Spring, 1998

THE Museum supported the Maison Française earlier this year in bringing to Oxford an exhibition entitled ‘Un Monde Fractal’. The exhibition was held in one of the public rooms of the Maison on Norham Road and ran for three weeks.

Having previously been seen in Paris and in Prague, it consisted of a series of impressive images illustrating fractal patterns in different areas of the mathematical and natural worlds. A reception organized for the British Society for the History of Mathematics concluded the exhibition’s stay in Oxford, from where it moved on to Edinburgh.
